Dr. Natasha Ching (Doctor Tash) is a Melbourne-based paediatrician and proud mother of two. Passionate about child development, she empowers families to nurture confident parents and thriving children. She has a special interest in mental health, promoting responsive parenting, and embracing the Montessori education philosophy. With a special interest in neurodivergence—such as giftedness, autism, and ADHD—she is dedicated to supporting twice-exceptional (2E) children, helping them overcome challenges and realize their full potential.
Background
Doctor Tash graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS with Honours) from Monash University. Alongside her paediatric training, she completed a Bachelor of Medical Science (BMedSci with Honours) and has contributed to several peer-reviewed publications.
Her paediatric training included roles at Monash Children’s Hospital, Royal Children’s Hospital, and rural placements in Bendigo and Ballarat Health Services. Doctor Tash also served as the Chief Resident Medical Officer at Monash Children’s Hospital prior to obtaining her fellowship. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), specializing in both General Paediatrics and Paediatric Infectious Diseases.
Doctor Tash has held consultant positions at Monash Children’s Hospital across her specialties. Her contributions extend beyond clinical care; she has reviewed and revised hospital and state-wide guidelines, compiled the World Health Organization’s Consultation Report on the Classification of Intrathoracic Tuberculosis Disease in Children (2021), and serves as an Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) instructor, training healthcare professionals in managing critically ill or injured children.
